EVChargeFinder.uk is an independent website built to help UK electric vehicle drivers find, compare, and navigate to public charging stations — for free, without needing to download apps or create accounts.
We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or owned by any charging network. Our goal is simple: give UK drivers clear, unbiased information about where to charge and how much it costs.
Why We Built This
Anyone who drives an EV in the UK knows the frustration: fragmented apps, hidden pricing, broken chargers with no status information, and no single place to compare networks by cost. We built EVChargeFinder.uk to solve that.
In 2026, the UK has over 60,000 public charging points across more than 25 networks — but finding the cheapest one near you still requires juggling multiple apps. We wanted one site that shows you everything, instantly.
How Our Data Works
Our charging station data comes from Open Charge Map — a community-maintained, open-access database of EV charging locations worldwide. We sync our database multiple times per day to ensure location and status information is as current as possible.
Pricing information is sourced from network published tariffs. Because networks change their prices regularly, we recommend always checking the network's app or the charger display for the most current rate before plugging in.
Our Mission
Making EV charging information free, accessible, and easy to understand for every UK driver — whether you drive a Tesla, a Nissan Leaf, or anything in between. We believe the transition to electric vehicles should not be made harder by confusing or inaccessible information.
Data Accuracy
While we strive for accuracy, station data is sourced from third parties including Open Charge Map contributors. We cannot guarantee all information — including location, availability, pricing, or connector types — is current or accurate. Always verify before making a journey specifically to charge.
If you find inaccurate data, the best way to fix it is to contribute a correction directly to Open Charge Map, where it will be reflected on our site within hours.

Our data comes from Open Charge Map, the largest open-access EV charging database in the world. We sync multiple times per day. However, real-time availability and pricing can change — always verify at the charger itself before making a dedicated trip.
How do I report a missing or incorrect charger?
The fastest way is to submit a correction to Open Charge Map directly — it's free and your fix will appear on our site within a few hours. You can also contact us and we'll look into it.
How often is the data updated?
Our database syncs with Open Charge Map multiple times per day — typically every 4–6 hours. New chargers added to Open Charge Map will appear on EVChargeFinder.uk within the same day.
Do you show real-time charger availability?
We show status information (available, occupied, unknown) where it is reported by the network to Open Charge Map. Not all networks share live availability data, so some chargers may show as "Unknown". For guaranteed live status, check the network's own app.
Why are some prices shown as a range?
EV charging prices can vary by location, time of day, membership status, and connector type — even within the same network. We show published tariff ranges where available, but prices change frequently. Always check the charger display or the network's app for the exact current rate.
Can I use EVChargeFinder.uk without creating an account?
Absolutely — no account needed, ever. Just open the site, enter your postcode or allow location access, and see nearby chargers instantly.
Does EVChargeFinder.uk work on mobile?
Yes — the site is fully mobile-optimised. You can use "Near Me" on your phone to find chargers based on your GPS location, and get directions directly to any charger via Google Maps.
Are you affiliated with any charging networks?
No. EVChargeFinder.uk is completely independent. We don't receive payment from any charging network and our comparisons are based purely on publicly available data. Our goal is to give you honest, unbiased information.
